June 7 Shop Update

Hi friends! Sorry I’m late writing this post… it’s been a crazy busy week!

Also, I probably should have posted about this yesterday when it was the actual day, but Unwind is now 12 years old!

12 years ago yesterday, I opened an Etsy shop with 3 skeins of yarn I’d dyed with Koolaid. Fast forward 12 years, and I’ve shipped upwards of 6000 skeins of yarn and 2000 braids of fiber to the US and 65 other countries, and I now have my own domain (hosted by Big Cartel- for now!). It has been such a blessing to get to do what I love for a living, and I’m so grateful for everyone who has purchased, told your friends about Unwind, supported me at shows/events, listened to the podcast, and just been all around awesome as I’ve been on this journey. I hope to have many more years of beautiful colorways in me (and KNOW I have a lot more left to do in this business!)!

I’m sure some of you follow me on Instagram, so I did want to touch on one more thing before I go tonight. This past week I got a distressing email from my fiber supplier, stating that they do not intend to sell quantities of less than 22lb of a single fiber anymore. This puts me out of the fiber business for all intents and purposes, so after my current stock of undyed fiber has been dyed up for my next 2 events, I will no longer carry spinning fiber at Unwind. This is sad for me as I was starting to consider dyeing fiber alongside yarn again, but the decision has been made for me by my (now former) supplier. If you’ve always wanted a sweater quantity of spinning fiber from me, I can still order it before July 15, and I encourage you to get in touch with me sooner rather than later about this if it is something you want. Unfortunately I cannot place an order for less than 1lb of a single fiber even before that, so I can’t do any 4oz quantities as custom orders, sorry. Please let me know ASAP if you want a larger quantity though, and I will get it in before they shut down orders.

May 3 Shop Update

April 26 Shop Update

Hi everyone!

After a VERY busy few weeks, I’m doing a shop update tomorrow!

I vended the Smoky Mountain Fiber Arts Festival in Townsend TN this past weekend, and created a beautiful new colorway that premiered at the show. Meet “Overhead Sidewalks”:

This colorway was based on a picture of my hometown’s downtown, and its distinctive overhead sidewalks- the only ones in the Western Hemisphere!

This colorway will be available on Journey Sock, Twinkle Sock, Luxe Sock, and Touring DK in limited quantities. As it is a truly unique yarn, each skein is a little different. Please allow for artistic license!

I have a few announcements to make as well.

• I recently finished a wonderful wholesale order for Stitch Supply Company, based out of Altoona WI! I was honored to get to dye a set of 14 colorways based on Tula Pink’s new All Stars fabric collection, and these yarns will be available on the Stitch Supply Company website soon!
• I am currently working on a “refill” wholesale order for Needlepoint Junction in Hilton Head Island, SC. They have a beautiful exclusive colorway from me that you should really try to go see, if you’re planning to visit the SC coast this year! Michele and her staff are really wonderful people and their shop is so nice!
• I am scheduled to be a part of the Worldwide Knit In Public Day celebrations at the new Kudzu Cottage shop in Pikeville TN on June 9. I will be bringing a selection of Unwind with me, as well as debuting a brand new custom colorway I am creating for Kudzu Cottage!

March 29 Update

Hi friends! I just finished loading today’s 1pmET shop update into the shop, and these beauties are available now for your shopping pleasure…

As I said in my last post, I’m currently deep in the dyepots, getting ready for Smoky Mountain Fiber Arts Festival… so my updates are likely to be pretty sparse until that’s over (end of April). I am also working on a very large custom order for a new client, so I likely won’t be able to get custom orders done in my normal 2-3 week turnaround; it will likely be 5 weeks minimum until the show is past. Sorry for any disappointment on that score!

That being said, I hope you’ll stop by the shop and see all of the gorgeous ready-to-ship items that I have listed! Thank you for your continued support!

March 15 Shop Update

Hello all!

I’ve been very busy getting ready to vend the Smoky Mountain Fiber Arts Festival next month, from April 20-22 in Townsend TN. I’m thrilled to get to vend this new-to-me event, since I’ve only attended as a customer before. It is located just minutes from the park entrance of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, and is surrounded by the most beautiful views you’ve ever seen. If you’re fairly local, or feel like taking a trip, it’s a great time to visit the mountains too! You can find information on the festival here, and be sure to check out the class schedule too!

March 1 Update

Hi folks!

Sorry for the radio silence last week. I have been really ill with a respiratory virus, and needed some time to recover. I’m now fairly well (still a little sick but not contagious) so I’m back to work! 🙂

This week I have 3 regular listings going up:

I also listed the next two colorways in my Perfect Blenders series today:

These are very basic shades of gray that go with SO many of my colorways:

Isn’t that awesome? So many options!! These Blenders are available on basically every base I dye, so no matter your project you’ll have lots of options! 🙂

The update goes live at 1pmET for the regular skeins, and the Blenders are already available for purchase.

One last notice… this past week, KinoKnits released the new Anna Karenina Shawl pattern, which calls for one skein of my Journey Sock in Mariposa.

Hi everyone! I hope you all are doing well on this first day of February. Is it just me or did January seem to last FOREVER??
